How was your Christmas? Mine was great. We are in New York for a few weeks spending time with family and doing a little remodeling work at my parents’ house and then my sister’s house. If you follow along on my Instagram stories, you’ll see some of what we’re doing up here.
The weather was a bit moderate, but then it started to snow on Christmas Eve. We woke up to a little bit of snow, but I think it’s supposed to snow again this coming week. It is so cold! Thankfully, I did some great shopping before we left Florida. We all got winter coats, boots, gloves, etc. We are well prepared. See the last few posts and the Shop my Instagram page for the details. The pink coat is a great example of this. It comes in 5 colors, it’s lined, double-breasted, belted, and it keeps me so warm. The over-the-knee boots come in 2 colors, they don’t fall down, can be purchased for wide calves, and are still on sale! The pom-pom beanie is so cute, comes in a plethora of colors and keeps my ears so warm! The snakeskin dress is perfect for New Year’s. It’s shiny and gorgeous! You don’t know this, but Milt was working overnights for the past year. It was so difficult for our family because he was always tired, had the weirdest schedule, and we couldn’t be as flexible with our schedule the way we used to be. I’m beyond ecstatic that some opportunities opened up for us that will give us back the normalcy (read: spontaneity) we once had. I’ll be sharing the details with you soon.
Shop the look right below:
Double breasted, belted coat – 5 colors, double-breasted, lined, and they’re all beautiful!
Jessica mock-neck snakeskin dress – perfect for a NYE church service or celebration
Over-the-knee boots (available in wide-calf) – suede, comfy, and still on sale!
With this in mind, I want to talk goals and resolutions. I have three goals for the New Year.
- Go to bed earlier. I have been going to bed between 2 and 4AM for my entire life and it was worse over the past year. I don’t ever sleep in, but I should probably get more sleep.
- Travel more (again). We used to always be going somewhere, especially NY, 2-6 times a year, and we want to do that again, starting next year. I realize that I am really a homebody, but I’m going to try to get out more lol. I just love being at home and feel more comfortable there. I’d rather entertain 7 nights a week than to go to most places. I do love international travel and any kind of travel that is a far distance and not just in another town close by.
- Start a business/different spin on the blog. There are several I have in mind, and they include, but are not limited to, start an online clothing boutique, share more cooking/baking vlogs, etc.
Do you have any goals/resolutions? What are they?
P.S. I’ve always been a department store shopper, but there are many times I find great deals on Amazon and other discounted sellers’ stores and websites. This does not mean I’ve abandoned the quality-over-quantity mindset I have. I will still keep posting the high-end fashion I love, but sometimes I will be able to find a lower-priced option, or something trendy that doesn’t cost a lot. When something is a fad and I want to wear it for a short amount of time, I’m not going to spend a ton of money on it. When it comes to timeless pieces, however, the sky’s the limit. I’m more concerned about the quality of the item.
