This past weekend we went to Milty’s first bible quizzing tournament of the year. It was in Belleview, Florida, but before we went up to the hotel, we had to make a stop at the shoe repair store. Before I tell you about the weekend, I have to tell you about a crazy, miraculous thing that happened to me.
A little over a week ago, we had an evangelist come to church to preach. His message was, “You Cannot Out Give God.” He proceeded to encourage us to give a sacrificial offering. Milt wasn’t at church, and we like to chat about these things before we make these kinds of decisions.
Well, long story shorter, I had to think about what it was I could give because as I stood at the altar, the Lord was tugging at my heart. I don’t want Him to feel as if I’m holding anything back from Him, so the one thing I thought about was the money that was sitting in my Poshmark account. That money was a collection of what I had made from selling several bags. That money was for a new bag.
I kept going back and forth about whether or not I should do it. I wanted to have faith that I truly couldn’t out give Him, but there was, naturally, a little doubt. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was a bit nervous about the whole thing. Anyway, I wrote down on a little envelope that I would give the exact amount in the Poshmark account. The next day, I said a little prayer and reminded Him to not let me down. I know, I know! Ridiculous. He can’t let us down.
What happened next is unbelievable. I had dropped off a pair of shoes to get some preventative work done. When I walked in, I saw a Louis Vuitton bag for sale. I wasn’t sure if it was real so I decided to do some research. I went back to pick up my shoes a few days after making the pledge and saw another Louis Vuitton bag. They proceeded to tell me they were getting a wallet as well. I took pictures of the second bag and went home and did some research.
I found out that both bags are real and the prices of them were UNBELIEVABLE!!! Like, so ridiculously low, I can’t tell anyone because I want to sell the bag in the top pictures. I didn’t buy the first one I had seen, but I ended up buying the second bag. Here’s what I realized and why I KNOW this was a response to my little step out in faith:
- I sold my bags and gave the money in an offering
- me finding a LV bag for such incredibly low price is almost unbelievable
- the fact that it was two LV bags, and a possible wallet is SO personal. I mean, these are the bags I love THE MOST!!! If it had been anything else, it might have been lost on me
- I will be able to sell this bag in the picture and get back more than what I had in my Poshmark account!!! I made money by trusting in the Lord!
What I realized is that you really, truly cannot out give God. He is so faithful! I am so glad I didn’t hold that back from Him! He is also in the very details of the miracle. I’m serious. If I had found a gun collection or something else, I might not even have looked at it.
Oh, and the tournament? Our team came in first place in the Intermediate division. They lost their last game in round 1, and then had to play the undefeated team (the team to which they had lost), in round 2, two times, to take first place. Whether or not we had one or lost, it was a fun weekend.
My boys are wearing their velvet jackets. I’ll link them in the widget above in case you want to get one for the guy in your life. I also linked several similar items to what I’m wearing. I won’t link the bag because you can visit Poshmark and buy mine 🙂 I’m wearing a rose gold watch I received from Milt for Christmas, but I found some very similar ones starting at $11.99!!! Also, there are some leopard sandals linked for as low as $19.99. See the widget above. Do it quickly too because these things sell out so fast!
Okay, to be honest, I don’t know if I want to sell the bag lol. It’s just nice to know that I have the option.
Do you have a testimony to share? I’d love to hear it. Please leave it below. Also, I love this look for a casual Valentine’s Day outfit.
