Happy Wednesday, everyone. We are scrambling to get ready for Hurricane Matthew. The hubs went out yesterday and commented on how busy the roads were. He said Home Depot and Lowe’s were completely out of plywood. I’m thankful we have hurricane shutters for our windows, and I pray for everyone in the path of this hurricane. We went through this about 11 years ago when we were hit with about 4 hurricanes in one season. One of those systems even made a U-turn and came back and hit the state again. It was not fun! During one storm, many members of my extended family and I drove through Georgia to Alabama to get away from the storm. Provided that everyone is safe, I love how life slows down during times like this because businesses are closed and families are together. Also, I notice that people show neighborly love one for another by inviting other people over to their ‘driveway’ barbecue.
I did want to share this outfit I wore the other day. The black dress is one of my favorite layering pieces. I can wear this dress under anything and it doesn’t add bulk or warmth. The sleeveless dress I’m wearing over it is one I bought at Ross a few years ago. You can wear it pulled down, or cropped the way I did. My shoes are in the slideshow above. My bag is HERE.
I also had a blast watching the Vice Presidential Debate last night with my boys. My major in college was political science, so this sort of thing is so interesting for me. Also, presidential elections are so exciting!
Well, I’m going to try to prepare the next post for Friday, but I don’t know if I will get to it with all the preparations we have to do, and I still have to try to get my school assignments done. I don’t know if we will have power/WiFi, etc. Please say a prayer for us, and if you are in the path of the storm, I am thinking of you too!
P.S. Milton is determined to be at Sam’s Club by 6:30 AM…no bueno for me if he wants me to go. I go to bed too late for that kind of ambition lol.
