Happy Wednesday, everyone, and Yllo! Haha. I mean, hello! How are you doing today? I have a great review for ya.

Have you ever heard of Yllo Turmeric Scrub? It’s okay, I hadn’t either. It’s made from…turmeric…and a bunch of other goodies such chickpea flour, cold-pressed coconut oil, sugar cane, sea salt, vitamin e oil, and essential lemon oil. It’s natural, vegan, and cruelty-free. According to my husband, it’s seasoning. Haha. Men! I guess that’s how he relates though since he does most, I mean all of the cooking.

Anyway, they contacted me and asked me to give this a try and tell you all about it. It was easy to use. You mix one tablespoon of the scrub with one teaspoon of water and once the paste is formed, rub it on your face. You can leave it there for 15-20 minutes two to three times a week.

I was really nervous about trying this product. First of all, I have really sensitive skin. Sitting in the sun too long gives me heat rash. Opening mail and touching my face can make me break out. I can’t even use Downy detergent or I break out in a horrible rash. So, to be honest, I was skeptical.

When I opened the bag, it looked like curry powder. I’m Jamaican, and we use that to cook sometimes. It also smelled like curry with a hint of lemon. It was easy enough to mix up and put on my face. The consistency wasn’t too loose. When I put it on my face, it didn’t run, but I wasn’t sure if it would stain my clothing the way curry does.

So…the verdict? I used it and when I was rinsing it off, I felt the oil in it. What I mean is that I could tell there was oil in the ingredients. However, it did have my face tingling a bit. Not sure what that was, but it’s been a few days and I haven’t broken out, so I think it’s safe to say that I’m not allergic to it. Also, my felt moisturized after the fact. I’m glad because I really like to use natural products, and if I’m not careful, I can get in a rut of using the same things and not trying new products.
