What You Can Tell by the Sparkle

DSC_0263Happy Monday, everyone! I know many of the counties around us have started school already, but today is my son’s first day. I’ll have more on his schedule, what we use as curriculum, and finally, I’ll reveal the home office/classroom makeover later this week. Yay!

When I wore this outfit last week, my sweet friend came up to me last week and told me she couldn’t see my face because someone had their arms up and blocked her view. She said she knew it was me though because of the sparkles in my skirt haha. So funny.

Anyway, how was your weekend? Mine was great. I spend all of Thursday with my gal pal trying on handbags. The next day,my son and I met with some other homeschooling friends from church so we could take the kids to paint pottery and then have lunch. It was really interesting to just sit there and listen to the boys chat away, as the adults did the same. These meet-ups is something I’d like to implement more and more this school year. Last year was a very trying year for us for many different reasons which I will explain at a later date, so with Milt starting high school, I want to take more time this year (and all of high school) to smell the roses. Later that night, he went to a lock-in at church from 8PM until 7AM Saturday morning. Since Milton had to work so early the next morning, we did a little window shopping, ordered in, and watched a movie.

I don’t know if you know, but we own a commercial janitorial business. The hubs had to cover someone for two weeks straight while they went on vacation. Just when he thought he would have a break, two days later, someone else hurt themselves, so he had to fill in for them until he could find coverage. We ran an ad, had several people show up the first day, they didn’t show up the second day, and then someone who cleaned the place before called and said they wanted to come back to work. It always happens this way.

This shirt I’m wearing is yet another one I picked up in Tennessee while out with my friend. NY and Company was having a buy-one-get-two-free sale. I love the ruffled details on the shirt. The skirt was purchased last year right before Christmas. I thought it would be cute to add the yellow, suede pumps with the outfit, the leopard belt, my wood watch from Jord, and of course, the cross body.

I’ll let you know how I…I mean, Milt survives his first day of school. I’m here debating whether or not I should take classes in the fall. This is my last week of summer classes, and I’m tired lol. It’s been a long summer. I’m not quite ready for it to be over, but I’m ready for it to be over. Make sense? Not to me either 🙂

Have a great day!

P.S. If you have questions about where I bought any of the other items, leave a comment below or send me an email. I’ll be sure to answer.
