Day Two on Maui

DSC_0025DSC_0015DSC_0017DSC_0002-02 DSC_0013-01 DSC_0008-01DSC_0003-01-01DSC_0047Happy Thursday, everyone! I’m finally able to get back in the swing of things, but there’s quite a bit of jet lag. I find myself just getting so tired at random times during the day. It was like that when we first arrived in Hawaii too. We were up every morning by 4AM (10AM EST). We started to get used to their time about two days before we left, and now, we need to get used to our time again. Sigh.

So, our objective while on this vacation was to simply relax. We did want to do at least one activity, but we didn’t want to become so busy doing ‘stuff’ that we went home tired. On our second full day on Maui, we did just that. After breakfast, we went to the pool and the beach. We stayed there for hours and just did…nothing…it was great.

After being in the water all day, we would go upstairs and get ready for dinner. That usually consisted of going to one of the little stores across the street…literally across the street from the resort. There’s a huge variety of stores including a store that rents recreation items such as snorkel gear, etc. They also had tons of brochures listing the dozens of things one could do while in Hawaii.

One thing I realized was that I didn’t burn. It seems weird, but I cannot be in the sun for too long or I get heat rash. I even brought 100 SPF sun block with me because I know how brutal being in the sun can be for my skin. Even now as I’m typing, I realize that I was in the sun (a lot) every day and I have no symptoms! The trade winds were blowing so it always felt warm…and cool…at the same time and maybe that’s why. I wouldn’t say I felt cold, but I would have expected even the water to be warmer than it was. It’s a little hard to describe, to be honest.

The first pic from above is a shot from our resort overlooking the mountains. The next two are from our balcony. Looking past the buildings, you can see the ocean. The third pic is the pool. The very last picture is the resort at night. I am going to review the resort, so I’ll save the juicy pictures for that post.

The dress I’m wearing is from a company named ModestMaimi. It’s the pink color block dress. It was so perfect for the weather in Hawaii. The sleeves are long, but the material is so lightweight and comfy. I felt as is I brought the best dresses on my trip.

Lord willing, tomorrow, I will tell you all about the car rental and the Road to Hana trip. I don’t mean to drag this all out lol, but I just have so much to share and a lot of pictures to boot!

Thanks for reading,
