Yay! I’m so excited about the completion of our guest bathroom. I’ve posted these “before” pictures already, but here is a quick recap of how the bathroom looked before we started this project. These pictures are completely untouched because I wanted to show exactly how the bathroom looked previously.
Now…prepared to be blown away!!! Okay, maybe I’m a little too excited? Haha! I can’t help it. I’ll write captions as I go.
In the above picture, we took out the medicine cabinet and replaced it with a framed glass-tiled niche there. This is the decorative, glass piece that we told our son to keep his hands off 🙂 We bought this light fixture at the Home Depot for $12!!! It was on clearance and the supervisor gave us an additional 20% off. The metallic, gold paint is Ralph Lauren for Home Depot. The mosaic tile, mirror, vanity, gfci outlet, and hand towel rod are all from Home Depot. In the picture below you will see the faucet we chose. The toothbrush holder is from Bed Bath & Beyond.
We installed a robe hook behind the door. I know, I know. It’s not oil rubbed bronze like everything else in there, but we couldn’t pass up the price on the double hook. By the way, there’s always spray-painting, right? As you can see, the glass tiles go all the way over the bathroom door. In another picture, you will see that mosaic tile was extensively used. In the very next picture is the garbage can we bought for the bathroom. This was purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond.
In the picture above is the toilet tissue holder, and below is the switch Milton installed. It is a double switch that works both the light and the vent that he installed. Okay, so I see that I took this picture before he finished cleaning the grout for the second time. Sorry, but we bought this decorative piece and I just had to place it in there and snap a pic. It’s clean now lol. In the picture below you will see all how much glass tile was used. We love this tile! We even put some in the shower. In the picture following the glass tile wall is the vent he installed. There was a small window in the bathroom but no ventilation. A sweet friend gave us glass block to replace that window. The toilet brush below is now hidden (Thank God) in a set that we bought from Bed Bath & Beyond. In the picture below is glass tile work in the shower and the shower caddy we bought from Home Goods. I liked this one because there is a space for a bar of soap, but with all the body wash I bought while couponing, who even uses bar soap anyway? I think I just like the option of having the space for it. The picture above is purposefully darker to show you the glass block window Milton installed. The picture below is the same as the one above. He installed all new tile for the shower and some of the wall. In the picture below you will the glass sliding doors that were installed. There was a shower curtain there before and I was so happy to see it go. On the door handle, we placed a decorative towel set that we used in a previous home. The towels are from Target and the tassels are from Ross. Again, I took a lot of these pictures after the bathroom was completed but not fully cleaned, hence the water-spotted shower door. You get the picture though, right? 🙂 In the picture above is the beautiful floor tile that he installed and the rug from Bed Bath & Beyond. The tiles are from Home Depot and the rug was on clearance with an additional coupon. We kept the same fixtures that were in the shower from before. We might eventually replace them, but we didn’t want to purchase things that didn’t need to be changed. The shower head is only a few months old. The only thing missing from the bathroom is a towel rod that we are placing behind the door. It will be installed today, but I didn’t want to wait for that picture tee hee.
So, what do you think? Isn’t it fab? I am so happy with the outcome of this space. I never thought it needed to be remodeled until I saw Milton working on it. He always knew that he wanted to renovate this room. I’m glad we did it.
What’s a huge project that you did? I’d love to hear about it.
P.S. I have some changes coming to the blog soon. Stay tuned!!!
