Fourth of July is right around the corner. With it brings lots of nautical looks consisting of red, white, and blue. What can be more patriotic than dressing up in stripes, (stars), red, and white? You already know that I have a ‘thing’ with stripes, and with red, and with ALL style!!!
I’ll be celebrating Independence Day having a barbecue/pool party with my family. This will be the first time we’ll be having the family over for a function. We’ve been in the middle of renovating the entire house, and we have been spending a lot of time at their homes and also out of town. It has been a rough couple of months for my family. My aunt had a stroke a few months ago, and it seemed as though time stood still. My husband and I spent almost two months remodeling various parts of her home. There is still more work to do at her house, but he’s been so busy with work that we haven’t been able to finish.
I am writing this at midnight. I had dinner with a very good friend last night. She made the best fried, barbecue chicken, baked, sweet potatoes with brown sugar and marshmallows, and a vegetable salad with homemade vinaigrette. I made oatmeal, white chocolate chip cookies. It was all so delicious, but I am exhausted!
Milty comes home from camp today. Senior bible quizzing state finals preparations kicks into high gear starting Saturday morning, so I must…get…rest…There were so many things that I wanted to do this week while he was away. However, with no one here but the dogs and me, I just rested. I spent time with family and friends, I shopped, ran errands, and just relaxed. It was a great week, and I hope you enjoy your weekend.
So, how will you be spending the Fourth? I’d love to hear about it!
